Before your student starts

Tell us about your student.

This is what the coach needs to be useful on day one. About ten minutes. Anything here can change later.

Either parent or guardian can fill this out. Karl talks with the family before any account goes live. You can invite another adult below, either to sign a short consent form or to fill out their own household intake.

Sconce uses AI.
Your student talks to an AI coach, not a person. Sconce currently uses Z.AI's GLM model over zero-data-retention routing. The model may change during the beta. Live data goes only over routes that forbid retention and training. You can pause or delete the account at any time.

School

We sort out the technical parts during setup.

School name, please.
This is how Sconce learns about holidays and closures. Look for “Calendar,” “Subscribe,” or “iCal” on the school website. Leave it blank if you can’t find one.
Check all that apply.
Who has a login for the school system?
At home, school, anywhere. Check all that apply.
This helps us choose setup steps that will work on the devices you already have.
A sentence or two is plenty.

Daily life

This helps the coach suggest realistic times to work.

Right after school, after dinner, or whenever you can get them to sit down.
Sports, music lessons, tutoring. Days and times if you know them.
e.g. a shared "Reyes family" calendar everyone can see.
Google Tasks, Apple Reminders, a paper planner, nothing. All fine.

What are you hoping for?

What would make this useful to your family?

Missing assignments, starting late, losing track of time, getting started, staying organized. Anything.
One or two sentences is enough.
IEP or 504, shared custody, strong subjects, what has and hasn't worked. Whatever seems relevant.

Consent & privacy

The first three are required. The messaging boxes are optional.

You'll get an email copy of your answers. Karl reaches out within one business day to set up a 20-minute session.
